The Mandala (Sanskrit for circle) comes from Tibetan Buddhism. It is a geometric pattern that symbolically depicts the cosmos. The Mandala has a Hindu origin, but is widely used in Tibetan Buddhism.
In Tibet, the mandalas are surrounded by ritual ceremonies and are made with small grains of sand, after which it is later ceremonially destroyed and returned to nature (running water).
A mandala; and in particular the center, during meditation can support the practitioner to focus on the symmetrical geometric shape that automatically focuses attention on the center.
After my travels in India, Indonesia and Tibet, I thought how can I immortalize these mandalas in my home? That's how I started mandala stencils; and now thousands of mandala stencils are lasered in Amsterdam and I send them all over the world.
